Training Highlights
Ground School: Receive personalized, one-on-one instruction focused on the advanced knowledge required of a commercial pilot. Training covers advanced aerodynamics, regulations, aircraft systems, weather, performance, weight and balance, flight planning, and risk management. Develop the knowledge needed to pass the FAA Commercial Pilot Knowledge Test and make safe, professional decisions in the cockpit.
Flight Training: Refine your flying skills through advanced commercial maneuvers and real-world flight scenarios. Training includes chandelles, lazy eights, steep spirals, precision landings, complex aircraft operations, cross-country planning, emergency procedures, and advanced aircraft handling. Each lesson is designed to improve your confidence, accuracy, and decision-making while preparing you for your FAA Commercial Pilot Checkride and the next step in your aviation career.
Minimum Flight Time
- 250 Hours Total Flight Time
- 100 Hours Pilot-In-Command Time
- 50 Hours Cross-Country Flight Time
- 20 Hours of Commercial Pilot Training with an Authorized Instructor
- 10 Hours of Complex, Technically Advanced, or TAA Training
- 10 Hours of Solo Flight Training or PIC Operations
- Required Cross-Country Training Includes:
- One cross-country flight of at least 300 nautical miles
- One leg of at least 250 nautical miles
- Landings at a minimum of three points
- One night cross-country flight of at least 100 nautical miles
- Three hours of training within two months before the practical test
(Most pilots complete their Commercial Pilot Certificate after meeting FAA requirements and developing the proficiency needed to successfully pass the practical test.)
FAA Testing
- Commercial Pilot Knowledge Test
- Practical Test (Checkride) with an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner
